Garmin with NavTeq maps is the way to go. Nearly exact routing. Dependable maps. Very levelheaded amalgamation commonly. This fastidious unit is an brilliant amalgamation of facial appearance and, as a refub, a stunning regard.

The facial appearance that allocate this contrivance to stand out from most additional Garmins are these: (1) Instant on and instant steering when twisted back on where it was twisted off. (2) Lane help in major cities in some intersections. (3) Manifold stops (Via Points) from your starting point to your destination (many Garmins don’t do this). (4) Lifetime transfer. You have to place up with small, very not easily seen ads now and over again, but it’s really no huge deal. (5) Here is no mast to extend. It’s built into the base unit. (6) It’s really, really insightful. Really. Insightful. Works splendid. (7) Here are transparent descriptions of large buildings and structures that aid somewhat in steering but even more, are entertaining and appealing.

    You really can’t go ill-treat.

What does it lack? (1) Most notably, voice recollection. (2) MSN air force, but that is scheduled to be shut off for lack of appeal anyway.* (3) A way to turn off the steering to carry it around listening to the MP3 player when you’re out of the car. It’s constantly result GPS signals in the grocery store and announcing when it’s lost the signal in the store. I indeed don’t need that and indeed don’t need the array being drained tiresome to GPS while I’m in Barnes & patrician. It would be nice to be able to turn the GPS off while by additional facial appearance, like the MP3 player and Audio Book player. (5) The FM transmitter that assists by the GPS and MP3 player with the car stereo is apparently as passionate as the FCC permits, but it’s still not passionate ample to overcome competing stations in the city. It’s just not a excellent tie. Too much blast. Some FM transmitters do best, and I’ve in fact plugged my Garmin GPS’s audio productivity into Belkin FM transmitters that seem to do a best (but still not splendid) job. (6) It doesn’t have Europe on it. Just all of North America.

These really are niggling complaints. It’s a splendid unit. I’m loving the instant on. didn’t grasp how much I’d like that in anticipation of I got it.

Since I liked the at the start one so much, I bought two more. One for my wife and one for a additional vehicle. My views have not changed. This is really, really the aptly manufactured goods for me. Highly not compulsory.

After having used the 760/780 for a year I elected up this unit for my wife to use.
I had it on order for a 4 days and it didn’t ship even though it was in have a give of. Had the option to cancel that order and I reordered when it hit $189 and chose two day shipping and it shipped aptly away, annoying, but I go off on a tangent.
The unit arrived in exact shape up apart from for a few fingerprints which basically wiped off, and built-in all accessories. I was able to catalog the unit on the Garmin website, and was offered a free map upgrade.

Equipment that differ from the 760:
    - bar along the top – as a substitution for of showing the upcoming crossroad, the 765 displays the street you are pouring on. cute a waste of time. I would much very have it sight the upcoming crossroad.
    - Upcoming turn arrows in the top left are a nice addition.
    - The 765 still displays your current alacrity on the lefthand tag when navigating a send. On the 760 – that vanished and was exchange with something else when on a send.
    - The righthand tag can be bespoke to sight the ETA, current time, or height.
    - Zoom in / out buttons are now both located on the righthand side, as is the shortcut pin for the mp3 player. The mp3 pin is practically small.
    - Lifetime transfer works well and was timely on my commute home last night. Unit correctly anticipated transfer and routed me around it.
    - Bluetooth does not work as well as the 760. Had splendid problem pairing with a Motorola W385. I eventually did after numerous tries, but will not download the contacts. I need to “join” each time I turn on the nuvi. My ancient 760 had no problem and collectively automatically once the buzz was in array.
UPDATE – bluetooth works much best after I abandoned tiresome to pair owing to the GPS and as a substitution for just searched for devices via the buzz only. My buzz elected up the 765 basically, then afterwards I changed the setting on my buzz to join automatically. It now connects as painlessly as the 760 did. Phonebook downloaded as well. Voice dial does not work though.
    - FM transmitter was at the start very weak (as is the one on the 760) but I exposed that if you go into the benefit screens (Push and hold the array icon) – you can set the transmitter to “High Potential” and it works much best. It is now practically conventional.
    - Array does not last long at all on the 765. Low array comes on in in this area 20 synopsis with the screen set to full brightness. You can gain run time by setting the screen dimmer.
-Screen smoothness / refresh rate and icons are much nicer than on the 760. Screen also seems simpler to see in sunlight.
    - The 765 buys satellites much quicker.
    - speaker is louder on the 765. I could barely hear the 760.
    - 3D construction view is sweet cool.
    - Have not seen the junction view yet, though I have only used it for a few days.
UPDATE – Junction view worked well on my contemporary Prayer trip. Doesn’t kick in very evenly though.
    - Both units support multi point routing which is a major implication if you want to break down the send to be where you want. I use the Nuvis on my dirt bike and seldom want to take the most direct way but rater state which attractive or twisty roads I want to ride to get here. Any the 760 or 765 will do that for you.

By and large the 765 is a nice enhancement, though the fleeting array life, and lack of upcoming crossroads are the major drawbacks.

Pluses are a nicer looking screen / graphics, quick acquisition time, and best FM transmitter (once set to “High Potential)

    All thorough, a valuable upgrade.

Keep in mind this is a factory refurb, although when selecting only “New” the at the start item plotted and sold by Amazon indicates its a new manufactured goods. Once you add it to your cart it then displays that its a refurbished item; I don’t normally buy refurb’s, but figured since it was sold by Amazon I had nothing to lose…. ill-treat, now for the assess.

It only lasted 3 days, it has now been sent back. I should have full the advise from others who have this develop. Not only is the 765T junk (read the reviews from uncommon sites), you also have the additional dithering that its a refurb; obviously it was returned for a reason aptly? DO NOT buy refurbished Garmin harvest, pay the superfluous and get a new develop, I would also highly suggest being paid a uncommon develop additional than the 765.

    - Array only lasted 15 – 20 synopsis
    - Interface very slow-moving and very slow to re-estimate
    - Loses satellites
    - Brightness didn’t work when plugged into potential
    - Kept resetting/rebooting
    - Running a non-shipping firmware translation. Received it with 3.80, but the latest is 3.60. Garmin suggest decrease, bricked it.
